Air conditioning or not?

Maybe people do not realize that it is in their interest to give up some their precious car? Perhaps it is a way to differentiate themselves socially, perhaps it is humiliating to take public transit, for whatever reasons, these people are wrong. Certainly not everyone can only use public transport but many people who can don't do it on the basis of arguments which are not rational ... Many of these people might indeed "live better".
Indeed, people using exclusively cycles and the subway have a quality of life much higher than most of the people trapped in their cars, and depending on their cars. With gasoline prices rising, they will nevertheless all give up overusing their cars... I hope.
