At the age of 4, a child laughs 400 times a day. In adulthood, only 15 times. And yet, some are under the average! However, laughter is good for health. It is good for the heart, lung, brain, diaphragm, skin, facial muscles, blood circulation, thymus and stimulates our natural defenses and, of course, our mood.
Laughter also affects the quality of relationships, emotional health and sense of well-being. One feels less bumbling and more optimistic towards his life. Simple solutions exist: humor should find its place in our lifestyle. Using our alertness, knowing how to say the right word, resolving deadlocks provide us with a significant "plus" in our family, professional, friendly and emotional relationships.
This is verified, the smile or laughter releases tension and preserve our health. Humor strengthens our confidence toward ourselves and harmony with others, increases our charisma.
Humour is not a gift: it is a mindset, a set of mental tools, methods acceptable to put into practice. It is learnable. There are "humor courses" (not a joke) to learn how not to mess about "a Yes or a No", regain the joy of everyday life. In addition, even if it seems trite and hackneyed, it is worth repeating it again and again because we quickly forget that humor is good for health.
Sociologists cite an utterance: "The more a country is ill and undergoing a deep crisis, more people are hungry for laughter". Psychoanalysts outdoing: "Humor is a remarkable defense mechanism. It allows a distancing from reality, that makes bearable situations that otherwise would be intolerable". Since a long time we laugh at powerful people, at the "not like the others", since a long time laughter can let us get rid of taboos of sexuality and laugh over heinousnesses of destiny.
Laughter has many health effects:
- Total muscle relaxation
- Acceleration of respiration resulting in acceleration of blood flow and hyper-oxygenation of the brain
- Action on the diaphragm, heart and skin
- Elimination of toxins through tears of laughter identical to those removed by the tears of pain
- Stimulation of salivary glands which then produce immunoglobulin molecules that enhance the immune system
- Effect of ribs massage (attention still don't wring your ribs with laughter) and impact on the digestive organs
- Production of endorphins: those natural morphines produced by the brain, reduce or eliminate pain and are responsible for the state of well-being recognizable by a blissful smile on the humourophiles faces.
Furthermore, very serious experiments have shown that during laughter the two hemispheres of the brain are better synchronized, which contribute to the relaxation and increases creativity. After a session of laughter, no one is imprisoned in his blue mood, and finds the choice and possibilities. From a psychological standpoint, the use of laughter and humor therapy let better solve problems, have other interpretations of situations. This encourages the search for solutions.
Doctors and psychotherapists assert: laughter and humor have become essential to avoid stress. The relaxation they provide is a total experience for your body and your mind. Laughter is a blessing from Heaven, so learn to relax and enjoy life.
And do not let others take your place to make fun!
